Zayda Caceres is Zika Technical Advisor to ASSIST/Honduras. In this role, she works closely with Tela Hospital teaching health workers quality improvement methods to equip them with the skills required to improve the quality of care in the hospital so that they can better support women and families at risk of Zika. She is a nurse by training with 26 years of experience working within the public health system. She has 18 years of experience providing counseling, with a focus in adolescent, family planning, and HIV counseling. She holds degrees in nursing and education (pedagogy) from Universidad Nacional Valle de Sula in Honduras. She and her husband José Ramos Caraccioli have been married for almost 30 years and have two sons.
