PEPFAR Webinar: Women and Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision
PEPFAR hosted a webinar on November 19th on the importance of women's role in the success of Voluntary Male Medical Circumcision (VMMC). The webinar discussed:
- The impact of VMMC on women, including new and established data on medical impact
- Women's perceptions of VMMC
- Women's roles in scale-up.
Our own John Byabagambi, an improvement advisor on the USAID ASSIST Project in Uganda, was a featured speaker, discussing ASSIST's VMMC work in Uganda. He is the team lead for VMMC on the USAID ASSIST Uganda team and provides technical support to health unit teams, USG-funded implementing partners, and Ministry of Health to integrate continuous quality improvement in VMMC service delivery through on-site mentoring and coaching to address health system gaps and integrate cross-cutting themes like gender and health workforce development in improvement work.
