PHFS Quarterly Webinar-August 2016

The South Africa National Department of Health (NDOH) is expanding the national MomConnect initiative, which registers pregnant women in the public health system and provides maternal and child health information via mobile phone use throughout pregnancy and the first year after childbirth. The NDOH is working with HealthEnabled and the USAID-funded Knowledge for Health (K4Health) Project through a public-private partnership supported by PEPFAR and Johnson & Johnson called Faster to Zero.

Jane Sebidi of the NDOH, together with Peter Benjamin and Idon-Nkhenso Sibuyi of HealthEnabled will present MomConnect’s strategy to reduce vertical transmission through the use of mobile phones to connect women directly to the information, resources, and support they need.
