Spanish-Language Webinar: Scientific Evidence to support Kangaroo Mother Care uptake in Latin America

What scientific evidence supports the recognition of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) as the optimal method in the health and nutrition of underweight newborns? On July 22nd a Spanish language webinar hosted by the USAID ASSIST Project, the Kangaroo Foundation, and the Neonatal Alliance, explored this question and more.

The webinar was moderated by Dr. Miguel Hinojosa of the Ministry of Public Health in Ecuador and consultant to URC-CHS and the USAID ASSIST Project. Dr. Goldy Mazia of PATH, a pediatrician and neonatologist with more than 25 years of clinical experience and 10 years in public health, primarily working in neonatal health and KMC, served as guest presenter. Dr. Mazia is an advisor to the USAID Maternal Child Survival Program and has coordinated the Neonatal Alliance since 2011. Her powerpoint presentation, in Spanish, is available below.
