Webinar- "The easier, the better" A hospital in India improves hand washing among parents & attendants entering the NICU”
This webinar is part of series of webinars to support maternal, newborn and child health quality improvement efforts in the WHO South East Asia region. The focus is on sharing how various countries and facility teams are starting their quality improvement journey.
About the webinar:
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital & PGIMER, New Delhi, India works on a Family Centered Care model. This model of care encourages involvement of the family of the patient in the care of the sick newborn. In this scenario ensuring that parents and other family attendants practice proper hand washing in the NICU was challenging. The RML NICU quality improvement team tried various changes to make it easier for parent-attendants to follow adequate hand hygiene practices and improved compliance towards hand washing.
Dr. Amlin Shukla, Assistant Professor, Department of Neonatology, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital & PGIMER will be sharing how they achieved this improvement.
Front-line health care workers are encourgaged to attend - doctors, nurses, allied health workers, midwives, students etc. Participants from the following countries to join: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Srilanka, Thailand and Timor Leste are highly encouraged to attend.
