ASSIST and its partner, All India Institute of Medical Services (AIIMS), provided support in using quality improvement approaches to a network of 39 WHO- and UNICEF-supported facilities in nine countries: India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Indonesia, Maldives, and Bhutan. The goal of this work was to strengthen health systems to end preventable child and maternal deaths (EPCMD) in South Asia.
In Bangladesh, we supported Shaheed Shurhawardy Medical College in Dhaka and five facilities in Kirigrum District to use QI methods to improve care. The work in Kurigrum District was done in conjunction with UNICEF.
